Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks.

Specific Duties Include:

Monitoring equipment performance to identify root causes of issues; disassembling machinery to access and replace faulty components; inspecting parts for defects; adjusting operational elements of machinery and control systems; repairing or substituting defective components; testing equipment to ensure optimal functionality; and conducting assessments of electrical circuits and mechanical systems, as well as refurbishing and repairing machine tools.


  • Sources and identifies necessary parts, supplies, and repair items. Evaluates alternatives to enhance cost-effectiveness and reliability of machinery.
  • Independently executes maintenance tasks in accordance with industry standards.
  • Collaborates with the Planner Scheduler to refine preventive maintenance protocols.
  • May set up and operate various machining processes, including but not limited to: lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking equipment. Welding tasks may also be required.
  • Adheres to 5S and cleanliness standards.
  • Leads and engages in Continuous Improvement initiatives, utilizing CI tools and methodologies to achieve results and cost savings.
  • Provides mentorship to junior technicians and guidance to project teams, contributing to training and development efforts.
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex control system issues, addressing software, hardware, and configuration challenges.
  • Employs predictive maintenance technologies to gather and analyze equipment performance data, identifying trends and making informed recommendations.
  • Maintains records and reviews CMMS history, analyzing relevant data.
  • Completes on-the-job training and engages in technical self-study for professional growth.
  • Observes all safety policies, regulations, and guidelines, maintaining situational awareness to identify unsafe practices and conditions.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Associate's degree with a technical focus and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the industry; or 7 years of experience in the specific field.
  • Proficient in predictive technologies, precision alignments, and general maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems, with the ability to analyze problems, develop alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
  • Capable of utilizing basic hand tools and specialized equipment as necessary.
  • Experience in vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations, precision alignments, and maintenance of relevant process equipment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This role necessitates regular standing, walking, and using hands to handle or feel objects. It may involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in confined spaces, as well as talking and hearing. Occasional sitting is required, and the ability to lift and/or move over 50 pounds is necessary. Close vision and color vision are regularly utilized. The work environment is typically loud, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and slippery surfaces.
