Overview of the Role

The Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting the Practice Managers with the daily management of store activities. This position involves overseeing all practice personnel, ensuring adherence to AEG Vision's policies and procedures, maintaining high standards, and fulfilling all patient requirements. The Operations Supervisor is actively engaged on the sales floor, collaborating with Opticians to facilitate sales and troubleshoot issues while addressing customer service concerns.

  • Addresses customer service inquiries and complaints regarding products and services; processes refunds as necessary; approves spectacle remakes.
  • Oversees patient flow, including appointments and walk-ins, to ensure timely practice operations. Coordinates with Technicians regarding scheduling and engages with patients in the waiting area.
  • Manages staff break schedules, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies regarding breaks.
  • Involved in the recruitment and selection process for new practice staff.
  • Participates in employee disciplinary actions when required.
  • Records any employee relations matters and escalates them to the Practice Manager or HR as needed.
  • Mediates conflicts among staff, escalating to the Practice Manager or HR when necessary.
  • Collaborates with the Practice Manager to organize and lead team meetings.
  • Provides continuous feedback to team members.
  • Facilitates training sessions for new employees.
  • Demonstrates cost-consciousness and offers suggestions for enhancing store efficiency.
  • Monitors staff responsibilities for opening and closing procedures, ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and adequately stocked.
  • Participates in annual inventory or as required.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Practice Manager.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • ABO Certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Significant experience in the optical field is essential.
  • Background in customer service and/or sales is necessary.
  • Previous management experience is advantageous.

Skills and Attributes

  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in computer use and data entry.
  • Capable of interpreting basic financial statements.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
