Key Responsibilities
We are in search of a highly skilled scientist to become part of our interdisciplinary team dedicated to energy storage research, specifically in the realm of innovative high energy density lithium-sulfur batteries. The primary role of the successful candidate will involve:
- Developing liquid electrolytes with suitable solvation structures utilizing novel solvents, salts, and additives.
- Creating lithium metal anodes featuring a three-dimensional structure and appropriate protective membranes to facilitate stable cycling of lithium-sulfur batteries.
- Characterizing the electrochemical and morphological properties and examining the electrode/electrolyte interfaces.
- Preparing manuscripts for publication and presenting research findings at national and international conferences.
- Generating new ideas for funded research initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a PhD from an accredited institution, obtained within the last five years or anticipated within the next eight months.
Preferred Qualifications:
A proven track record of publications in reputable journals and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment are essential. Candidates should also:
- Demonstrate a strong safety orientation.
- Hold a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Polymeric Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Exhibit experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Fundamental materials synthesis for advanced cathode and anode materials for battery applications.
- Development of non-aqueous electrolytes, lithium metal protection, and sulfur electrodes.
- Extensive knowledge and practical skills in material synthesis, scale-up, battery assembly, and testing.
- Prior experience with organic electrolytes and lithium-sulfur systems is preferred.
