Job Title: Wellness Coach

Job Type: Part-time

Job Summary:

The Wellness Coach will be responsible for delivering safe and effective instruction to members of exercise equipment and interacting with all members utilizing the wellness facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act professionally and dress according to requirements.
  • Welcome and greet all members, get to know their names, needs, and goals.
  • Assist with machine usage, provide exercise advice, and ensure proper execution, form, and technique.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance, report issues, and follow cleaning protocols.
  • Follow facility rules, including proper restacking of weights and washing, drying, and folding towels.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and utilize time clocks and monitor timesheets.
Requirements:
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
  • Completion of YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogens training annually.
  • Completion of YMCA's Child Sexual Abuse Prevention training annually.
  • One year or more of experience in fitness.
  • Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Requires full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination.
  • Requires corrected vision, speech, and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and actively demonstrate exercise equipment.
