Wellness Coach

The YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Wellness Coach to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about exercise equipment, general weight lifting, health, and wellness, and can demonstrate exercises safely and effectively.

• Member Service:
  • Welcome and greet members as they arrive or shortly thereafter.
  • Get to know members' names, needs, and goals.
  • Interact with members and assist with machine usage, providing appropriate exercise advice.
• Facility Operations:
  • Ensure the facility is open on time and ready for use.
  • Prepare for opening by setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
• Programming and Events:
  • Develop and lead group fitness classes and programs.
  • Plan and implement special events and activities.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure effective communication and coordination.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year or more of experience in fitness or a related field.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
• Completion of YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogens training annually.
• Completion of YMCA's Child Sexual Abuse Prevention training annually.
