About the Position:

UNM-Taos is seeking a dedicated Nursing Faculty member to join our team. As a Nursing Faculty member, you will play a vital role in preparing nurses who are compassionate, knowledgeable, and competent in providing care for our diverse community. You will coordinate and instruct students entering into and throughout the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing program, utilizing a concept-based, lifespan curriculum. Your responsibilities will also include classroom, lab, clinical, office hours, and simulation instruction, as well as service and scholarship responsibilities such as clinical coordination and oversight, student mentoring and advising, and participation in university, nursing program, or nursing organizational committees and activities. You will be expected to utilize technology for instruction and communication, demonstrate a commitment to student success for our rural and diverse population, and use effective interpersonal, leadership, and organization skills.

The University of New Mexico-Taos is a comprehensive community college serving the region from "cradle to career" with an award-winning early childhood education and care center, pre-college programs, vocational and technical courses, associate degrees, transfer and articulation to four-year institutions, career readiness, adult basic education, and lifelong learning opportunities. Located approximately 130 miles north of Albuquerque, UNM-Taos is the only college within a 50-mile radius, nestled between the Rio Grande, Sangre de Christo Mountains, and the ancestral lands of the Taos Pueblo. About the Opportunity:

This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position with a competitive salary range of $75,000-$78,000 depending on education. Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Current unopposed New Mexico license as a registered nurse or approved multistate license
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience working as a registered nurse

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a nurse educator
  • Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, particularly community college experience
  • Professional certification related to nursing and/or nursing education-
  • Certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) considered a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student success
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a professional and collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
