Beverage Associate (Part-Time)

Role Summary

The Beverage Associate (Part-Time) plays a vital role in enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty by delivering prompt and courteous service, maintaining optimal operating conditions, and creating a welcoming environment. This position involves serving alcoholic beverages while customers shop.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Excellence

Ensure product freshness by stocking and rotating inventory; efficiently manage supplies to minimize waste and control costs. Monitor beverage machines to guarantee adequate supplies of soda syrup, ice, and coffee.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, free from safety hazards; report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management. Alert management regarding any theft, shoplifting incidents, unauthorized markdowns, or other illegal activities.

2. Customer Experience

Prepare and serve beverages, including beer and wine, to store patrons. Facilitate the sale of cups for hot and cold drinks. Maintain an organized and efficient method for processing customer orders. Provide attentive service by greeting, assisting, and thanking customers in a friendly manner. Make product recommendations to enhance customer experience and encourage repeat visits.

Process customer transactions accurately and swiftly, accepting various payment methods. Ensure register accuracy and maintain drawer balance with total receipts.

3. Compliance

Adhere to legal and company standards when selling alcoholic beverages. Responsibilities include verifying customer age through identification checks, identifying customers who should not be served additional alcohol, and monitoring for compliance with open container regulations.

Qualifications

Education Required:

High School Diploma or GED

Relevant Experience:

0 - 3 years minimum experience

Language Requirement:

English proficiency

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must be at least 18 years old. Completion of TIPS Training is required prior to starting the position.

Basic math and computer skills are necessary. Must comply with all company policies and procedures. Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently, as well as follow English instructions.

High integrity and reliability are essential.

Physical Demands:

This position requires regular standing or walking on various surfaces, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. with assistance. Occasional sitting and repetitive hand movements may be required.

Working Conditions:

Typically, this role does not involve exposure to adverse working conditions.
