Job Title: Director of Behavioral Health
Job Summary:
HORIZON HEALTH is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health to oversee the Behavioral Health Program at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. This unit is a 24-bed inpatient Geriatric psych unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a high-quality treatment program, developing and implementing a comprehensive community relations program, and strategic planning, program administration, and development.
Responsibilities:
- Perform as liaison between Program, Hospital, and Horizon, communicating information and needs appropriately.
- Support Hospital and Horizon missions, goals, and objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction in accordance with Hospital guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision for Program nursing, counseling, patient support, and administrative staff.
- Develop, in coordination with assigned VP, Clinical Practice, implements, and updates all policies and procedures for the Program.
- In coordination with the Hospital, ensure the Program meets and maintains all federal, state, local, and accrediting bodies' regulations and standards.
- Participate in assessing and reassessing the program needs of the patient.
- Supervise all patient care and sets guidelines for accurately reporting and recording of patient symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Develop processes to audit and coordinate ongoing education to ensure all staff are trained on proper documentation of all aspects of the patient's care.
- Recruits, interviews, and selects qualified staff for the Program.
- Provides for professional growth and development of staff through identification of needs, development of individual training plans, and participation in training programs.
- Defines goals and objectives of the treatment program under the direction of hospital administration and Horizon leaders.
- Collaborates with medical and clinical staff in coordinating and managing the medical and psychosocial treatment plans.
- Participates in assessing and reassessing the program needs of the patient.
- Supervises patient care and sets guidelines for accurately reporting and recording.
- Maintain patient privacy.

Qualifications:
