Database Performance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Database Performance Specialist to join our team at Insight Global. As a key member of our database team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our relational database management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and troubleshoot SQL queries and stored procedures for optimal performance
  • Perform daily checks of database services and systems to ensure availability
  • Monitor database management systems for health in terms of resources such as memory and CPU usage
  • Assist software developers with query design and tuning
  • Perform Extraction, Transacting and Loading (ETL) of data as necessary
  • Diagnose and resolve database management systems in times of reduction of service or failure
  • Consult with system architects and software developers on database object design
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain database jobs to maintain the health of the database server
  • Ensure database server settings are appropriate

Requirements:

  • Interim or Active Top Secret clearance
  • Security+ cert (or equivalent IAT II)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant degree
  • Proven years of experience as an SQL Developer or similar role
  • Well-versed in relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • 7 years' experience in Relational database design, Database administration, and/or Database server install and administration
  • Adept at troubleshooting issues related to database servers
