Chief Pathologist for Apheresis and Transfusion

Position Overview: The Director of Apheresis and Assistant Director of Transfusion Services is accountable for the safety and well-being of patients and donors involved in apheresis operations. This role entails providing immediate assessment and intervention during apheresis procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer on-site, telephonic, or digital consultation for apheresis procedure inquiries.
- Design and implement educational initiatives for staff and trainees regarding apheresis practices.
- Identify and execute process enhancements as part of the quality management strategy for the apheresis program.
- Support the academic objectives of the institution.
- Fulfill the criteria for faculty appointment at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Compensation: The annual salary for this position is $236,556.80.
Required Qualifications:
- MD/DO Degree.
- Board eligibility or certification in Clinical Pathology.
- Membership on the Medical Staff with the requisite clinical privileges.
- Eligibility for faculty appointment at the University of Washington.
Licensure: Must hold a valid Physician license in the State of Washington.
Academic Rank: Should meet the eligibility criteria for Assistant Professor in the UW Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
Provisional Status: All medical staff members are provisional for the initial year of employment.
Preferred Experience:
- A minimum of three years of clinical experience in Pediatric Apheresis.
- Completion of an accredited postgraduate medical education program that includes apheresis training.
