The Banquet Houseperson plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of function rooms and areas within Pyramid Global Hospitality properties. Key responsibilities include setting up and maintaining function rooms, service corridors, storerooms, and equipment in accordance with policies and procedures, brand standards, and regulations. This involves efficiently setting up tables, chairs, platforms, and other equipment as specified by group requirements, checking and adjusting temperature and lights, and ensuring electrical hook-ups are in proper working order. Additionally, the Banquet Houseperson provides audio-visual services, including setup, instruction, and secure storage of equipment. They also pick up and deliver boxes and materials for functions as needed, service and freshen function rooms during breaks, and break down tables, chairs, and other equipment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent physical stamina, as the job involves extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 100 lbs. The Banquet Houseperson must also be able to work in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines, and be exposed to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Basic safety precautions and the use of applicable protective equipment are essential in this role.
