Education and Experience Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of 1 year of relevant structural assembly experience is required. Familiarity with Solumina and Smarteam is advantageous. Graduates from Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program may receive one year of experience credit.

Position Objective:

In a collaborative work setting, with moderate oversight, you will execute a variety of structural assembly tasks within a production environment.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Assemble and fit detail components and structures, performing various drilling and riveting tasks; ensure all parts and assemblies comply with specifications.
  2. Rivet structural components using all necessary tools (e.g., portable riveting guns, pneumatic tools, drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets).
  3. Interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to ascertain the sequence of operations, type, size, and hole pattern for rivets.
  4. Conduct thorough checks on all work to guarantee a defect-free assembly before final inspection.
  5. Maintain and utilize all logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs).
  6. Align and assemble components for riveting using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
  7. Uphold a clean and organized workspace, support the company’s 5S Program, and adhere to all safety protocols.
  8. Work under moderate supervision on assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  9. Contribute to Lean Activities.
Perform additional duties as required.

Other Qualifications

Essential Skills:
  1. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  2. Proficient in reading and interpreting a 6" scale.
  3. Basic computer literacy.
  4. Capable of performing basic shop mathematics and reading scale measurements.
  5. Ability to comprehend basic documents and instructions.
  6. Possess essential personal attributes, including a hands-on craftwork aptitude, professionalism, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  7. Demonstrate effective housekeeping and safety practices.
  8. Ability to work with composite materials and resins.
  9. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  10. Flexibility to work any shift.
  11. Capable of climbing ladders/stands/stairs and working in confined spaces or restricted areas.
