We are seeking a highly skilled Coding Professional to join our team as a Clinical Data Specialist. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records, utilizing your expertise in medical coding and data analysis to drive quality improvement and inform clinical decision-making.

Compensation Package: The salary for this position is estimated to be around $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize approved classification and nomenclatures to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to patient medical records in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring adherence to established coding guidelines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to resolve coding discrepancies and ensure accurate data representation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest coding regulations, guidelines, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve coding accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, patients, and families to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare operations.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  • Registration in good standing with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
  • Proven experience in medical coding, data analysis, and quality improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  • Certification in medical coding, data analysis, or quality improvement.
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting.
