Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Produce Department Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Department Leadership: Supervise and delegate tasks to produce team members, ensuring seamless execution of daily operations.
  • Training and Development: Work with the produce trainer to train team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring all cases and shelves are clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated.
  • Customer Service: Foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, ensuring all customers receive exceptional service.
  • Performance Management: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Store Operations: Open and close the department according to established procedures, ensuring all necessary breaks are given and maintaining awareness of customer flows and needs.
Requirements
  • Experience: 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a produce department.
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of produce team procedures and policies, strong organizational and time management skills, excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills, and proficiency with email and Microsoft Office.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours, and work in a wet and cold environment.
