Job Title: Building Maintenance Assistant

Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Building Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, providing excellent maintenance and repair services, and promoting a safe and supported work environment for all staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage building and equipment maintenance schedules to ensure timely and effective maintenance.
  • Respond to maintenance calls and emergency situations, and conduct small repairs as needed.
  • Identify repair needs and coordinate with vendors for larger or complex repairs.
  • Work with the facilities team to move furniture and other office and client-related items as necessary.
  • Drive to and pick up items that need to be brought to facilities.
  • Proactively test building security systems and promote safety within the building.
  • Manage equipment and supply needs, including furniture, telecommunications, kitchen appliances, office equipment, and climate control.
  • Ensure vendors provide ongoing services, such as coolers, janitorial, and bug infestation control, are appropriately scheduled and meeting expectations.
  • Monitor and proactively maintain inspection of all systems and services related to facility core system safety.
  • Under the direction of the Manager, maintain essential systems like plumbing and lighting.
  • Proactively inspect, review, and maintain all key boxes, panic buttons, security alarms, and video cameras, and any other core systems for all off-site facilities.
  • In partnership with the Facilities Manager, ensure the warehouse is kept organized and that only current and useful materials are continuously stored.
  • Implement and maintain inventory systems for facility-managed resources, such as keys, fobs, and all IT hardware.
  • Proactively assist departments in setting up workspaces for new staff or when staff change workstation assignments.
  • Document processes and keep maintenance records current.
  • Assist in CORA special event setup and takedown.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Experience with facilities maintenance.
  • Certification or additional experience and training in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work strongly preferred.
  • Able to lift 50-75 pounds and has training in moving large and heavy items.
  • Current driver's license, insurance, and clean driving record.
