Job Summary

Family Service League Inc. is seeking a skilled Counselor to provide individual and group therapy to children, families, and adults with a range of mental health and substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a related field, and be licensed to practice in New York State.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake assessments and provide individual and group therapy to adults, adolescents, and children with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Provide linkage and follow-up to clients during the stabilization period and immediately following.
  • Coordinate with outside providers and collateral contacts.
  • Attend routine supervisions and team meetings.
  • Coordinate treatment with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • LMHC, LMSW, LMFT or related licensed, clinical degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting, with clinic experience preferred.
  • Prior experience diagnosing using the DSM V and experience with behavioral/therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records.
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver's License.
  • Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
