Job Title:

Optomechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

Biomeme, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Optomechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our next-generation products. As an Optomechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing optical and mechanical systems for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop optomechanical systems, including optical assemblies, mechanical structures, and integration solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and simulations of optical and mechanical components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Create and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Perform prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of optomechanical systems to validate design and ensure quality.
  • Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to develop and refine designs.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in optical and mechanical engineering to continuously improve design practices.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets effectively.
  • Provide technical support and expertise during the manufacturing and assembly processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optomechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing optomechanical systems, preferably in laser or microscopy.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and optical design tools (e.g., Zemax, LightTools).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in optical simulations and mechanical analysis.
  • Knowledge of materials science, mechanical design principles, and optical technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with advanced optical systems, such as adaptive optics or high-precision imaging systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and assembly techniques related to optical and mechanical systems.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or similar certification.
