We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our team at the College of Engineering, Graduate Program in Acoustics at The Pennsylvania State University.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will conduct research in one or more of the following fields: ultrasound twinkling artifact for detecting and monitoring mineralizations, evaluating where bubble nuclei exist in healthy and diseased tissues, developing focused ultrasound to treat mineralizations, and monitoring cavitation for underwater applications.
Responsibilities:- Conduct research in acoustics, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
- Develop and implement research projects, including participation on in vivo studies.
- Work with in vivo animal models, focused ultrasound, and mentoring students.
- Write research proposals and publish results.
- Collaborate with a diverse and inclusive team to achieve research goals.
- PhD in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Experience in programming the Verasonics research ultrasound system.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
