Bayhealth is seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at Kent Campus Hospital. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing various surgical, obstetric, or diagnostic procedures. You will work collaboratively with anesthesiologists to provide high-quality patient care and ensure a safe and efficient anesthesia experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia assessments and evaluations of patients to ensure appropriate care.
2. Develop and implement patient-specific plans for anesthesia care, taking into account pre-anesthetic assessments, problem analysis, and current anesthesia principles.
3. Administer anesthesia at required levels, as defined by patient-specific plans, and in accordance with defined standards.
4. Conduct continuous and vigilant clinical observation of patients' physiologic conditions and document all activity, including omissions and reasons stated on the patient's anesthesia record.
5. Notify attending anesthesiologists at the start and completion of every case and if patient-specific plans of anesthesia are altered before or during a procedure.
6. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient records, including interventions and patient responses.
7. Assess patients' status to determine when safe to transfer responsibility of care to other qualified providers and complete discharge documentation and record hand-off of the patient on the anesthesia record.
8. Maintain Infection Prevention standards and adhere to all other duties assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Requirements:
• Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia Practice
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) credential
• Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) credentials
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 2 or more years' experience as a CRNA (preferred)
• Active membership in the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), Delaware Association of Nurse Anesthetists (DANA), and Delaware Nurses Association (DNA)
Preferred Education and Credential:
• Doctorate Degree in Nurse Anesthesia Practice
• Additional certifications or credentials may be preferred
