Compensation: $15.00/hour

About the Role:

The Retail Associate & Warehouse Support plays a vital role in enhancing customer experience by assisting patrons with their donations, selections, and purchases. Responsibilities include operating a cash register, addressing customer inquiries, and ensuring the store and warehouse are well-organized and clean. Additionally, the role involves managing the security of merchandise and cash. This position also requires support in the loading, unloading, and sorting of donations, as well as helping with the setup and breakdown of warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers with their purchases in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Handle cash transactions, prepare receipts, and maintain accurate cash drawer balances.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and in-person, providing information and assistance as needed.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of donated items, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Monitor warehouse areas to prevent theft and ensure safety.
  • Conduct brief inspections of donated items to verify usability according to established guidelines.
  • Prepare and issue donation receipts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Foster positive relationships with donors to enhance the organization's image.
  • Organize and distribute donations within the warehouse efficiently.
  • Assist in transporting donations, ensuring items are packed securely and safely.
  • Support the driver during donation pickups by providing navigational assistance.
  • Perform routine maintenance on transportation vehicles as necessary.
Candidate Profile:

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or G.E.D is required, with preferred experience in retail environments. A minimum of two years of experience in warehouse operations or similar settings is desirable, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge.

Certifications/Licenses:

None required.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to lift and carry heavy items (over 50 lbs.) frequently. The position involves standing, walking, climbing, bending, and reaching, with limited periods of sitting.

Working Conditions:

Work is conducted in a retail and warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and other environmental factors.
