Senior Robotics Software Engineer

At Motion Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Robotics Software Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Boston, Massachusetts. Our client is a cutting-edge Autonomous Vehicle start-up dedicated to revolutionizing transportation through innovation and advanced robotics technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain software components for autonomous navigation, perception, and control systems.
  • Implement algorithms for localization, mapping, path planning, and motion control.
  • Optimize and enhance existing software architecture to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with sensors, actuators, and other robotic systems.
  • Conduct code reviews, write technical documentation, and ensure code quality and best practices are upheld.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) developing software for robotics or autonomous systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java, with strong software design and architecture skills.
  • Hands-on experience with robotics frameworks (ROS, Robot Operating System) and simulation tools (Gazebo, V-REP, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures relevant to robotics applications (e.g., SLAM, Kalman filters, PID controllers).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and deployment practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems development.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Previous work in autonomous vehicles or related industries.
