Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Associate to join our team at CarMax. As an Inventory Associate, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute daily inventory tasks, including vehicle receiving, shipping, and scanning, to ensure accurate product status.
  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities to optimize inventory management processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, ensuring a positive experience for all.
  • Ensure daily lot maintenance and security of display areas and work-in-progress zones.
  • Secure and receive vehicles shipped to CarMax, preparing them for sale.
  • Complete scanning of vehicles to ensure accurate product status.
  • Perform lot wash and vacuum tasks for customer returns and loaner vehicles.
  • Drive vehicles on and off lot for repairs and storage.
  • Support auctions and other inventory-related activities as needed.
Requirements
  • Current driver's license and ability to meet CarMax's DSEPS standards.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Ability to execute processes as defined by work instructions and/or standardized work.
  • Complete Inventory Associate Workstation Certifications and Assigned Workday Learnings.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in an indoor and outdoor environment, with potential exposure to noisy and inclement weather conditions. Flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are required. The ability to walk or stand for extended periods in a high-energy, fast-paced working environment is essential.
