Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Logistics Operations Manager will report directly to the VP of Operations and will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the procurement, production planning, and inventory management teams. The essential duties include but are not limited to:
  • Participating actively in planning safety and protection initiatives.
  • Assessing labor needs to support operational plans.
  • Leading inventory enhancement strategies for raw materials and finished goods to align with customer service expectations and inventory goals.
  • Reviewing and authorizing purchase orders and forecasts.
  • Establishing and directing operational protocols, including:
    • Verification of shipments.
    • Management of material handling and disposition.
    • Implementing cost-saving measures in freight, warehousing, procurement, and labor.
  • Negotiating with transportation providers and vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Ensuring efficient routing and transportation modes for various lanes and customers.
  • Providing freight quotes for specific projects.
  • Overseeing adherence to purchasing protocols.
  • Managing vendor relationships and contributing to contract negotiations.
  • Initiating improvements for control and efficiency across all supply chain departments.
  • Analyzing market conditions to forecast material availability and minimize costs associated with freight, fuel, and storage.
  • Developing transportation methods for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Handling claims against the company as necessary.
  • Driving supplier approval programs for raw materials and facility chemicals.
  • Preparing departmental budgets and fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and/or four years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform all essential duties effectively.
