We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team at Hydes Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to high standards of quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including meats, vegetables, and other ingredients, to high standards of quality and presentation.
- Menu Planning: Assist in planning and preparing menus, including selecting ingredients and developing recipes.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels and manage stockroom operations to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train kitchen staff, including prep cooks and line cooks, to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary arts degree or certification preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a lead cook or prep cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Skills: Strong culinary skills, including knife skills, cooking techniques, and menu planning; excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness.
