Job Summary

Rio Rancho Public Schools is seeking a skilled Audiologist to join our Special Services Department on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive audiological evaluations, hearing screenings, and hearing aid services to students in our district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audiological evaluations and hearing screenings to identify hearing loss and recommend interventions
  • Provide hearing aid services, including fittings and repairs, to students with hearing loss
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized plans for students with hearing loss
  • Communicate with outside audiologists and hearing aid specialists to ensure seamless services for students
  • Provide in-service training to school personnel on hearing loss, hearing aids, and personal and classroom amplification systems
  • Recommend and manage personal and classroom amplification systems to support students with hearing loss
  • Assist in the placement of students who are deaf or hard of hearing in the classroom
  • Maintain test equipment and ensure calibration and repair as needed
Requirements
  • State license by the NM Regulation & Licensing Department Speech Language Pathology & Hearing Aid Dispensing Practices Board
  • Master's degree in audiology, communication disorders, or equivalent degree in audiology or communication disorders
  • Certification in audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or the American Board of Audiology (ABA)
  • Proof of having passed a nationally recognized standard examination in audiology
  • Proof of having passed the jurisprudence examination with a grade of no less than 70%
