Key Responsibilities:- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare a complete financial statement monthly, adhering to dealership guidelines and manufacturer formats.
- Document Control: Control all posted documents, including time records, vehicle deals, commissions, and additions and changes to inventory.
- Operating Control: Provide a timely daily operating control (DOC) and keep the dealer/general manager informed about trends.
- Cash Management: Review cash position daily, maintain an effective cash management system, forecast cash needs, and control petty cash amounts for the dealership and sales department.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile select accounts monthly and approve adjustments to inventory and receivable accounts.
- Accounting Functions: Print monthly journals, schedules, and general ledger, and close the month by processing accounting month-end.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all government regulations and assist in the completion of annual reviews and audits.
- Payroll and Tax: Review payroll on a timely basis, post payroll accruals, prepare tax reports, tax deposits, and tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Vehicle Floor Plan: Manage the payoff of vehicle floor plans and work with bank representatives.
- Office Supervision: Supervise and train office personnel.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting or a related discipline.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Strong accounting skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work flexible hours.
