- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, resident goals, and physician referrals.
- Speech-Language Therapy Interventions
- Provide speech-language therapy interventions to enhance residents" speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing skills.
- Progress Monitoring and Documentation
- Administer standardized tests, informal assessments, and clinical observations to measure residents" progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaboration and Education
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure a coordinated approach to resident care.
- Educate residents and their families on compensatory strategies, communication techniques, and swallowing exercises to maximize functional outcomes.
Requirements:
- Valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of New York.
- Strong knowledge of speech-language therapy principles, assessment techniques, and evidence-based treatment interventions.
- Proficiency in conducting evaluations and developing appropriate treatment plans based on resident needs and goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
