The Cardiac Ultrasound Technician Trainee is responsible for executing high-quality diagnostic echocardiography procedures autonomously while effectively collaborating with cardiologists. This role includes taking on various related responsibilities as assigned and fostering teamwork within the service line and associated departments. It is essential that the behavior and communication skills of the technician align with the core mission, values, and culture of CHRISTUS Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit proficiency in the relevant OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Self-Leadership, Leadership of Others, or Leadership of Leaders.
- Conduct all standard echocardiograms to assess potential heart abnormalities or diseases.
- Support physicians during transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Administer stress echocardiograms to investigate coronary artery conditions.
- Regularly inform physicians for interpretation of exams and monitor supply levels weekly.
- Show competence in fulfilling assigned patient care duties, catering to the age-specific and developmental requirements of the patients served.
- Adapt assessment and treatment methods appropriately to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Uphold the Core Values of CHRISTUS Health in all interactions.
- Certification by ARDMS or CCI is expected within one year of employment, though not mandatory at the outset.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Education and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology program is preferred.
Experience:
- Preferred two years of experience in the cardiology sector.
- Experience with stress testing is also preferred.
Certifications:
- BLS certification is required.
- DCS, RCS, RDMS through ARDMS or CCI is preferred.
Work Type:
