Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Adult Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview, Washington. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasound equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations using ultrasound equipment in various modes and techniques
  • Record test results, prepare accurate preliminary reports, and update patient records
  • Use independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathological findings
  • Integrate previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to optimize exam
  • Perform other duties consistent with caregiver's scope of practice, training, experience, and licensure/registration/certification
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of ultrasound sonography program required or equivalent education and/or experience as required for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by the national registry through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with CCI, OR registry eligible
  • Experience in Vascular is preferred, but not required
  • Current certification/registration/licensure as required by the State for trained modality
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire
