At Middlesex Human Service Agency, we are seeking a highly skilled Medication Specialist to join our team. As a Medication Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective distribution, storage, and management of medications for participants in our Answer House Program.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' treatment plans and manage prescribed medications.
- Oversee the self-administration of medications as per treatment plans, prescriber instructions, and BSAS regulations.
- Collaborate with treatment teams to discuss client progress and medication-related concerns.
- Coordinate with external healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care upon discharge.
- Ensure appropriate storage, disposal, and record-keeping of all medications on-site.
- Complete all required documentation, including self-administration records, medication changes, client responses, and discharge plans.
- Comply with BSAS regulations and MHSA policies regarding medication management.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's or Associate's Degree preferred.
- 1-2 years' experience in medication management; Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Fundamental knowledge of substance abuse and its treatment.
- Familiarity with MA DPH/BSAS regulations is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with spreadsheets, databases, and word processors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification required (MHSA will provide training opportunities).
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Bilingual candidates preferred.
- Satisfactory CORI/SORI reports at all times while working for MHSA.
- $25.00 per hour (non-exempt, hourly position).
