Position Overview:
The Stanford Blood Center is dedicated to advancing patient care through innovative research and technology. Our multidisciplinary team, which includes physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and radiation therapists, is committed to delivering exceptional and compassionate patient care.
We are currently seeking a Research Scientist to join our esteemed laboratory focused on the cancer-immune interface. Our research primarily investigates therapeutic strategies involving T cell therapy, cytokines, and innate immune agonists, with a specific emphasis on sarcoma and melanoma. Additionally, we aim to deepen our understanding of the immunological mechanisms that contribute to the efficacy and resistance of radiation therapy, a prevalent treatment modality in oncology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead scientific experiments, including the design, execution, analysis, and presentation of data.
- Oversee and mentor junior laboratory members in their experimental design and execution.
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory.
- Assist in the training and development of students and post-doctoral fellows.
- Work closely with lab technicians to optimize laboratory operations, manage budgets, and maintain equipment.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in immunology, cancer biology, or a related discipline.
- Preferred post-doctoral experience in immunology or cancer biology.
- Extensive experience with murine models of cancer and immunotherapy.
- Desirable expertise in molecular biology, particularly in genetic manipulation techniques (e.g., viral vectors, CRISPR).
- Experience in microscopy, image analysis, and computational biology is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $75,000 and $90,000 annually, contingent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications.
