Position Overview

The Senior Accountant - Capital & Tooling plays a vital role in supporting KAMTEK's divisional and Finance Department objectives by overseeing capital and tooling activities, ensuring precise and timely documentation of related expenditures. This role is crucial in assisting all departments by categorizing expenses appropriately. As part of the Finance team, this position is responsible for balancing and achieving the goals of Customers, Employees, and Investors. Key responsibilities include monitoring, maintaining, and reviewing capital and tooling projects along with their associated costs. Additionally, this role involves managing Fixed Assets, depreciation schedules, and reconciling Fixed Assets, Tooling, and Other Assets accounts. The position will also lead Fixed Asset Physical Inventory and ensure compliance with Lease Accounting Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Take ownership of lease accounting and reporting duties, which involve analyzing lease agreements and preparing or reviewing information for proper treatment. Draft position papers as necessary.
  2. Enhance processes within the capital cycle and monthly reporting of Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E) and leases.
  3. Contribute to strategic financial planning and forecasting activities.
  4. Reconcile general ledger account balances for Capital, Fixed Assets, Other Assets, and Tooling on a monthly basis.
  5. Review and analyze accounts related to capital improvements and complete F6 monthly.
  6. Investigate variances between forecasted and actual spending and address project budget overruns.
  7. Assist in the completion of internal and external audits and compliance reporting requirements.
  8. Manage all intercompany tooling month-end journals and assist with month-end intercompany balance confirmations.
  9. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley documented finance process requirements for the position.
  10. Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with other departments and external customers/suppliers.
  11. Promote effective organizational practices (5S).
Qualifications
  • Adhere to relevant rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Good organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.
Preferred Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED Required. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering is required.

Technical Training

- Experience with integrated financial/manufacturing software packages.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel skills is required.

Experience

- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, focusing on product cost or budgeting systems, or equivalent training in relevant fields.
