The Culinary Specialist will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking all dishes served to our guests. This includes menu items, specialty dishes, and seasonal features. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to consistently produce high-quality meals efficiently, adhering to the standards expected by both Anna's House and our valued guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quickly and efficiently prepare and cook menu items in collaboration with the kitchen team.
  • Utilize large-volume cooking equipment such as griddles, grills, and deep fryers.
  • Manage multiple orders simultaneously, ensuring all items are prepared according to guest specifications.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality food items.
  • Prepare, wash, and cut ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables and butchering meat.
  • Follow instructions from the Kitchen Manager and General Manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and properly store leftover food.
  • Set up and stock cooking stations with necessary supplies.
  • Adhere to nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Foster a positive and professional atmosphere with coworkers and guests.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Availability to work on weekends is required.
Qualifications
  • Previous cooking experience, particularly as a Culinary Specialist, Restaurant Cook, or Prep Cook is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A culinary school diploma is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Manual dexterity to operate kitchen tools and equipment effectively.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices in health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful kitchen environment.
  • Ability to endure exposure to heat, steam, and cold in a kitchen setting.
  • Capacity to stand and work for extended periods.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
