Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Engineer/Instrumentation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, training, and installing, maintaining, and repairing sophisticated medical equipment and systems used in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform scheduled and corrective repairs of biomedical equipment and medical systems under the supervision of a manager or designee.
  2. Conduct pre-issue and asset accounting, equipment installation, and de-installation of related equipment as needed.
  3. Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, and electrical safety tests of biomedical equipment where applicable to maintain code compliance.
  4. Document the results of all inspections, maintenance, and tests.
  5. Collaborate with biomedical engineers, KPIT, business partners, and OEM representatives to ensure seamless service delivery.
  6. Complete applicable documentation of all work performed in a timely manner.
  7. Travel frequently to provide service support and attend technical training.
  8. Participate in on-call schedules to perform emergency service and maintain communication devices during duty hours.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Minimum four (4) years of experience in formal and/or on-the-job training.
  2. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  3. Valid California Driver's License.
  4. Good driving record and willingness to work extended hours.
  5. Proficiency in operating PCs with Windows operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Associates degree or equivalent in electronics, physics, or a related science degree.
