About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in Scranton, Pennsylvania. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting our healthcare providers in the outpatient setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and document patient information, including reason for visit, weight, vital signs, and medication review.
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms between cases and assist patients as needed.
  • Provide direct patient care, including EKGs, wound dressings, and support during minor surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications according to policy and procedure.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork.
  • Perform phlebotomy and assist in specific laboratory functions.
  • Document patient information in the electronic medical record and use the scheduling system as designated.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
  • Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months.
