We're seeking a student employee to fill the role of Peer-to-Peer Support Group Co-Facilitator for the Friends of Aine organization in Manchester, NH.

This student will work with grieving children and families during weekly peer-to-peer support groups, where all materials are provided by the Center.

Groups are broken up by developmental age and range from 4-18 year olds.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage children using the provided curriculum each week and access it on the volunteer portal prior to the groups starting.

Read books, help with crafts, show videos related to grief, and assist with navigating conversations regarding feelings and coping strategies.

Provide a safe space for children and families attending each week.

Lead discussions, encourage peer-to-peer conversations, and guide children through activities.

Requirements:

Current enrollment in a SNHU degree program

Work-study part of financial aid package

Students with work-study may be prioritized

Reliable transportation

Compassionate heart and open mind, as every child and family grieves differently

Pass a background check

Learning Outcomes:

As a facilitator, you'll help children and families build bonds and gain coping skills to grow and learn how to help themselves through grief.

You'll also learn the power of peer-to-peer groups and their importance for children.

Work Schedule:

5-8pm, one night per week

Our hourly pay range for this position is $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
