Job Title: Truck Driver OTR
Job Description:
As a Truck Driver OTR with Brenntag, you will be responsible for transporting freight in a safe, orderly, and timely manner as scheduled and instructed by the Transportation Department. You will assure scheduled delivery/pickup appointments are met and notify the Transportation Department of any delays or problems that will affect the proper servicing of customers.
Responsibilities:
- Transport freight in a safe, orderly, and timely manner as scheduled and instructed by the Transportation Department.
- Assure scheduled delivery/pickup appointments are met.
- Notify the Transportation Department of any delays or problems that will affect the proper servicing of customers.
- Assure pick-up and delivery of correct products and quantities in good condition.
- Makes certain of proper loading and safety of the product in transit.
- Follow the Federal DOT regulations for road safety and ELD requirements, as well as proper reporting of any violations.
- Inspect and assure the safety of equipment and turn in vehicle condition reports for tractor and trailer taken out upon completion of each trip.
- Complete and turn in trailer inspection sheets for each trip.
- Report all equipment damage to the Driver Manager and fill out appropriate paperwork.
- Complete JM Swank. Transport, Inc. weekly packet (bills of lading and associated paperwork) and turn in at the end of every day.
- Attend all drivers' meetings and training as scheduled.
- Assure that all appropriate Permit packets and Accident kits material are kept up to date in the truck.
- Support other activities and projects as assigned or dictated by business priorities.
Requirements:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Preferably two years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience.
- Completion of truck driving school desirable.
- Meet physical requirements.
- Pass DOT physical.
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
- Capable of safely climbing into and out of both a semi-tractor and trailer using the three points of contact rule.
