Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Provide project leadership, communication, coordination, and conflict resolution to ensure successful project execution.
  • Project Planning: Develop project plans that include schedule, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Pre-Project Planning: Support institutions in pre-project planning activities, including Capital Improvement Plan preparation, budgeting, and approval processes.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from initiation through completion of construction and occupancy, ensuring project budget, schedule, and procurement of design, construction, and ancillary services.
  • Consultant Management: Drive progress of consultants to achieve expected functionality and recommend alternatives to recover negative drift.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate timely decisions by campus representatives and report progress and issues impacting the project goals to stakeholders.
  • Contract Administration: Ensure design and construction documents comply with project requirements and facilitate timely review of contract documents by engineers and consultants at all phases of the work.
  • Client Advocacy: Advocate for the client in contract negotiations and develop, review, and approve design and construction contracts, changes, technical service contracts, Guaranteed Maximum Price submittals, bid documents, pay applications, etc.
  • Project Control: Apply project control processes to track progress, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with client rules and regulations and applicable State and Federal statutes.
  • Client Liaison: Primary project liaison with client leadership, campus staff, facility user groups, operations, and administration during design and contract administration to ensure timely input, manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and facilitate decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with other colleagues to initiate and develop process improvements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Science or a technical degree in Construction Management preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Licensed Engineer, Registered Architect, or Certified Construction Manager (CMAA).
