As a Registered Nurse with VIP Community Services, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. You will also be responsible for booking patients for tests and appointments, providing guidance to non-clinical staff, and prescribing or administering treatment as needed. Key Responsibilities
• Prepare patients for visits with healthcare providers by performing and recording vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight, and other procedures as needed. • Collect, record, and maintain patient information, including medical history, reports, and examination results. • Review patients' medical records for completeness and update prior to visits. • Assist with routine medical examinations by preparing patients, equipment, and supplies, and assisting healthcare providers as needed. • Assist with preparing routine diagnostic request forms. • Perform occasional lifting of patients with assistance, reaching, handling, and fingering of instruments, and caring for patient needs. • Book patients for tests and appointments with outside facilities and/or specialists. • Provide guidance to non-clinical staff regarding clinical issues, such as phone triage. • Prescribe or administer treatment, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness in patients, including children and infants. • Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary. • Understand and follow VIP Community Services' Mission Statement, Organizational Policies, and Structure. • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned. • Supervise and support medical assistants. • Responsible for meaningful use and PCMH requirements and staff training. • Infectious Control training. • Lead support to the medical director in continuing quality assurance (CQI) monthly meetings. • Produce CQI monthly reports on quality measures to present to the board. • Support the quality assurance director with review of patient charts and reports. • Assist with the annual UDS report and ensure all quality measures are being followed. • Maintain logs, including refrigerate temperature logs, VFC orders and logs, and consent forms. Requirements
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license. • Current Infection Control Certificate. • Current BCLS certification. • Minimum 2 years of similar work, internship, or volunteer experience required. • Bilingual in Spanish. • Proficiency with computer technology. • Demonstrate interpersonal relationship skills. • Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to interact effectively with all populations served.
