Computer Science Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Computer Science Instructor to join our team at El Paso Community College Cafe. As a Computer Science Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in computer science courses, including teaching, mentoring, and advising students.
Responsibilities- Teach computer science courses, including introductory and advanced courses, to students of varying skill levels and backgrounds.
- Develop and implement course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments that align with the college's curriculum and learning objectives.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities, to engage students and promote learning.
- Provide individualized attention and support to students, including office hours, tutoring, and feedback on assignments and projects.
- Stay current with developments in computer science and technology, and incorporate new ideas and approaches into your teaching practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, assess student learning, and improve teaching practices.
- Participate in faculty development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, and online courses, to enhance your teaching skills and stay current with best practices in computer science education.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Computer Science.
- Experience teaching computer science courses at the community college level, or equivalent experience in industry or research.
- Ability to teach a variety of computer science courses, including introductory and advanced courses.
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with students, colleagues, and administrators.
- Ability to use technology, including learning management systems, online course platforms, and other educational tools.
