Job Summary:

This is a mid-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Sargent & Lundy, you will lead electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teams. Your responsibilities will include the production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, and engineering reports. You will apply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components. Additionally, you will produce Procurement Specifications and Construction Specifications (Electrical sections), attend project meetings, and perform field walkdowns. You will also mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

* Lead electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teams
* Produce engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, and engineering reports
* Apply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
* Produce Procurement Specifications and Construction Specifications (Electrical sections)
* Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns
* Mentor junior engineers

Requirements:

* Must be a U.S. Citizen
* BSEE or MSEE degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program (PE strongly desired)
* 5 or more years of progressive responsible experience in electrical engineering in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial, or Navy)
* Experience with producing engineering designs for low to medium voltage electrical distribution systems and instrumentation wiring; Experience with more than one type of system a plus
* Field Engineering and Construction Experience is a plus
* Experience with NEC, UL508, codes and IES Lighting Handbook
* Proficiency in load flow and/or arc flash analysis software such as ETAP and/or SKM Power Tools
* Proficiency in lighting analysis software such as Virtual and AGI32
* Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
