Job Title: Food Service Substitute

Harwood Unified Union School District is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Food Service Substitute to join our team. As a Food Service Substitute, you will be responsible for assisting with daily cleaning duties in the cafeteria, setting up and stocking areas, preparing and packaging foods, and serving students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily cleaning duties in the cafeteria, including cleaning equipment and work areas, operating the dishwasher, and cleaning up lines at the end of the meal shift.
  • Set up and stock areas as needed.
  • Prepare and package foods.
  • Serve foods to students.
  • Perform cashier duties, including setting up the cash drawer, operating the cash register, and counting daily vending revenues.

Requirements:

  • Basic Education (high school or equivalent) and one year of related food service experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and dirt/dust.
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme cold.
