We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse PRN to join our team at Opelousas General Hospital. As a key member of our Surgical Services department, you will provide direct nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care relative to operating room nursing practice, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
- Perform nursing functions, applying professional skills to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Document and maintain accurate records of patient care.
- Maintain a safe environment, equipment, and supplies, adhering to asepsis standards.
- Apply basic teaching and learning concepts to patient education, promoting patient empowerment and self-care.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients.
- Administer intravenous medications and/or parenteral nutrition, as well as blood products, and evaluate patient response.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
- One year of Registered Nurse experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.
