Position Overview: The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and upkeep of production machinery, contributing to the profitability and achievement of the organization's key performance indicators (KPIs) and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a diverse range of tasks to assemble, clean, install, maintain, and troubleshoot production machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve operational issues with machinery and mechanical equipment by performing scheduled, unscheduled, and routine preventative maintenance in accordance with diagrams, operation manuals, and engineering specifications.
  • Utilize root cause analysis techniques to identify issues in non-operational machines by observing mechanical devices, listening for unusual sounds, and conducting visual inspections.
  • Interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance and service tasks.
  • Identify problems, replace or repair components, and conduct testing and adjustments as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment using hand and power tools, as well as measuring and testing instruments.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary machine parts and maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Establish a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery, documenting any irregularities, and preparing mechanical maintenance reports.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment that encourages all staff to contribute towards achieving business objectives.

  3. Solid understanding of manufacturing maintenance processes, local building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements.
  4. Ability to foster positive team relationships and achieve targeted outcomes.
  5. Strong analytical skills to interpret technical documents and prepare reports.
  6. Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  7. Familiarity with automated systems and the ability to utilize business software effectively.
  8. Competence in basic math and problem-solving techniques.
