The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary medicine, public health, and leadership. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising production animal programs, providing field supervision for district veterinarians, and managing the brucellosis and tuberculosis funds and vaccination program in Iowa.
Additionally, you will oversee the Iowa Premise Identification Program and Animal Disease Traceability Program, ensuring compliance and efficient operation. You will also assist in managing foreign animal disease investigations and act as a trained official Foreign Animal Disease Diagnostician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise production animal programs within the Division of Animal Health
- Provide field supervision for district veterinarians
- Manage the brucellosis and tuberculosis funds and vaccination program in Iowa
- Oversee the Iowa Premise Identification Program and Animal Disease Traceability Program
- Assist in managing foreign animal disease investigations
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and experience equal to six years of full-time management-level work in finance, human resources, engineering, law, social work, regulation, data processing, or program research or evaluation
- Or ten years of full-time management-level work experience in finance, human resources, engineering, law, social work, regulation, data processing, or program research or evaluation
