Compliance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team at the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that licensed companies are following all state laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate potential rule and law violations in the areas of sports wagering, revenue submission, and the debt setoff program.
- Interpret and explain the impacts of applicable statutes, rules, and regulations relating to sports wagering, fantasy sports contests, revenue collection, and the debt setoff program.
- Draft stipulations between the IRGC and licensees and prepare corrective actions following violations of rules and regulations in the areas of sports wagering, fantasy sports contests, revenue collection, and the debt setoff program.
- Develop and track drafts of administrative rules, legislative proposals, policies, and procedures relating to sports wagering, fantasy sports contests, revenue collection, and the debt setoff program.
- Primary point of contact with IRGC staff at the casinos for issues with testing and compliance of gambling games.
- Review and respond to sports wagering and fantasy sports contests complaints.
- Maintain slot testing equipment and be the primary point of contact for field staff issues with testing, troubleshooting, and compliance for gambling games and implements of gambling.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to three years of full-time work in investigative or closely related work which involved: preparing interpretative or administrative orders, rules, or regulations which have the effect of law; or interpreting and enforcing federal or state laws governing health care administration; or quality assurance review to determine, through internal audit or analysis, the level of compliance with program requirements; or drafting, negotiating, or examining contracts or related documents required for organizational operations.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to three years of full-time, professional-level work involving the interpretation and enforcement of federal and state laws or department policies and procedures or quality assurance review as determined through internal audit or analysis of the level of compliance to program requirements.
