**Job Description**

The Surgical Services Assistant is responsible for supporting team members in assignments, workflows and projects. This role provides reliable, consistent proficiency in assigned duties and seeks out opportunities to improve the facility's efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Preparation, setup, and cleanup of assigned spaces.
  • Properly identifying, handling, and disposing of biohazardous, hazardous, and pharmaceutical waste according to policies and procedures.
  • Safely transporting supplies, instrumentation, and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
  • Providing patient transport within the facility via stretcher, wheelchair, and ambulatory assistance.
  • Completing and maintaining records of assigned checklists.

**Requirements**

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.

**Skills and Qualifications**

  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable specialties.
  • Outpatient clinical organizational ability.
  • Ability to remain objective and composed in stressful situations.
  • Cooperation, flexibility, and ability to provide assistance when interfacing with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Accuracy and completeness in reporting information.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

**Estimated Salary:** $42,000 - $52,000 per year
