Job Summary:

C A Murren and Sons Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team in the heavy civil construction industry. As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for preparing and laying pipe for storm drains, sanitary sewers, waterlines, and other types of pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Excavate and prepare trenches for pipeline installation
  • Grade and level trench foundations to ensure proper pipe alignment
  • Check pipe slopes using levels or lasers to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Bed and backfill trenches properly to prevent pipe damage
  • Install pipes that are on grade and airtight as required
  • Support the Foreman in monitoring progress and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment, including lasers, transits, grade rods, and line levels
  • Vast knowledge of differing types of soils and shoring techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and coordinate with Foreman
  • Valid driver's license
  • Participation in pre-employment and random drug screening program
  • Subject to a background screening process
