Position Overview: The Quality Control Chemist plays a crucial role in supporting operational processes during batch production. This includes conducting quality inspections, assessments, and tests throughout all production phases, as well as certifying products for distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiarity with laboratory calibration protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors, managers, fellow QC Chemists, chemical operators, maintenance staff, material handlers, contractors, and engineers.
  • Document observations and contribute to process improvements.
  • Maintain the retention system for samples.
  • Utilize computer systems for data entry, inventory management, and generating Certificates of Analysis (LIMS and SAP).
  • Communicate batch process stages and outcomes clearly.
  • Conduct sample analyses to address customer inquiries or complaints.
  • Participate in Gauge R&R studies to validate analytical methods.
  • Adhere to laboratory waste disposal procedures to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Follow protocols for the labeling, storage, and safe handling of chemicals.
  • Perform quality analyses on incoming raw materials using approved methods and specifications.
  • Conduct in-process and final product evaluations.
  • Certify products for shipment.
  • Support compliance with all quality system requirements, including ISO 9001, EFfCI, Good Manufacturing Practices, and RSPO.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biology, or a high school diploma with relevant laboratory experience.
  • Ability to perform job functions in accordance with HSE policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of standard practices and concepts in the field of chemistry.
  • Experience in conducting wet and instrumental analyses for chemical process control.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with solution preparation techniques.
  • Ability to report incidents or accidents appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and navigating file servers and web-based tools.
  • Demonstrated creativity and independence in achieving objectives.

  • Adhere to all site HSSE policies and procedures.
  • Understand and comply with critical plant procedures.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) based on job tasks.
  • Actively participate in health, safety, and environmental initiatives.

  • Follow laboratory procedures for chemical labeling, storage, and handling.
  • Manage hazardous waste appropriately, including labeling and marking containers.
