Ingot Processor

This position is responsible for facilitating the production of vacuum melted ingots from mold preparation to shipping finished ingots. The successful candidate will assist vacuum furnace operators in the master melt process, take part in the preparation and pouring of ingots, and complete associated foundry tasks. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for ingot stripping, grinding, blasting, inspection, and preparation for shipment.

• Preparation: Inspect and deliver metal ingot molds to furnace areas, clean and inspect molds, and insert graphite plugs.
• Vacuum Furnace Operations: Assist in setting up and operating MM mold racks, run conveyor systems, and observe ingot casting processes.
• Maintenance: Provide minor maintenance and troubleshoot equipment problems, clean furnaces and robots, and maintain foundry areas.
• Safety: Adhere to plant and department safety rules, safely operate equipment and tools, and identify and report safety problems.

• Ability to follow instructions, read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds.
• Ability to work as a team member and in difficult working conditions.
• Previous experience with overhead cranes/hoists and automated equipment is preferred.

Training is provided on the job, and PCC's Fork Lift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed. Basic computer training may be required.
